Champions League final kick-off delayed amid security alert

Kick-off in the Champions League final between Liverpool and Real Madrid has been delayed. The match at the Stade de France in Paris was scheduled to get underway at 8pm. However, it has been confirmed that the contest will now start at 8:30pm.

It comes after thousands of Liverpool fans remained stranded outside the 81,338-seater venue. A post on Liverpool's official Twitter account read: "Kick-off has been delayed by 15 minutes" while UEFA wrote: "For security reasons, the match has been delayed by 15 minutes."

After initially pushing kick-off back by 15 minutes, it was confirmed that the game was delayed by an additional 15 minutes, meaning the game is now scheduled to start 30 minutes later than planned.
