Things will be far from easy for Liverpool in the Champions League group stage.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have been drawn in Group A alongside Ajax, Napoli and Rangers, giving Liverpool both tricky assignments but also brilliant away days to look forward to.
The Reds fell just short in Europe last season, losing to Real Madrid in Paris in a final that was marred by the treatment of fans by police, and Liverpool will be intending to go one better this time.
The opening match of the group stage for Klopp and his men takes place just a few days after a derby clash against Everton at Goodison Park.
Liverpool’s fourth match, either on the 11th or 12th October, will be played in between Premier League games against Arsenal and Manchester City, before the Reds conclude their group-stage campaign in the week leading up to a trip to face Tottenham.
