American Amanda Anisimova has saved two match points to send defending champion Naomi Osaka crashing out of the Australian Open at Melbourne Park.
The 20-year-old set up a fourth-round meeting on Sunday with Australian world No.1 Ash Barty with a fearless performance to shock Osaka 4-6 6-3 7-6 (10-5) on Friday night.
Up 5-4 in the third set, Osaka had match points on Anisimova's serve but couldn't close it out with the world No.60 taking full advantage in the match tiebreaker.
