GUWAHATI: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (Aapsu), which has a two-member representation in the state government-constituted committee to probe into the residential proof certificate (RPC) issue of Arunachal, on Sunday made it clear that all Chakmas and Hajongs will have to be deported from the frontier state irrespective of the panel’s recommendations.
“We want the residential proof certificate to be scrapped altogether and not just suspended. The influx of suspected migrants from the Chakma and Hajong communities into Arunachal continues to date. They have emerged as a threat to the local population. All of them must be deported back to the country they came from,” Ritum Tali, general secretary of Aapsu, said. “Whether in the case of refugees who came here before 1969 or illegal immigrants, there is only one solution — deportation,” he added.
