Chadwick Boseman’s estate is set to be divided between his wife and parents after he failed to make a will before he died.
The Black Panther star died in 2020 at the age of 43 following a private four-year battle with colon cancer.
A court filing in Los Angeles shows that Chadwick’s wife Taylor Simone Ledward, who he married in the months before his death, requested that his fortune be split between herself and his parents.
According to Radar Online, who saw the documents, Taylor revealed that after some bills were paid, the actor’s estate was valued at $2.3m (around £1.9m).
Last year, Taylor honoured her late husband as she accepted a Golden Globe awarded posthumously for his role in Netflix drama Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.
She said: “He would thank God. He would thank his parents. He would thank his ancestors for their guidance and their sacrifices,” Taylor said of her late husband.
“He would say something beautiful, something inspiring, something that would amplify that little voice inside of all of us that tells you, you can, that tells you to keep going, that calls you back to what you are meant to be doing at this moment in history.”
Taylor added: “I don’t have his words but we have to take all the moments to celebrate those that we love. So thank you, HFPA, for this opportunity to do exactly that.”
Boseman’s other acting credits include Get On Up (2014), Gods of Egypt (2016,) 21 Bridges (2019) and Da 5 Bloods (2020).
