CFB Fans Erroneously Believed They Heard F-Bomb During FS1’s West Virginia-UCF Broadcast

During Fox Sports 1’s broadcast of Saturday afternoon’s West Virginia-UCF game, fans thought they heard play-by-play man Eric Collins punctuate a wild play with a four-letter bomb.

The play in question involved Collins’s call of a second-quarter pass from Knights quarterback John Rhys Plumlee. The deep throw bounced off the hands and then the feet of Knights wideout Javon Baker before landing in the hands of West Virginia defensive back Beanie Bishop Jr.

“Plumlee to throw. Hasn’t had an incompletion today. And there’s his first! It’s a pick off! How about that?! The ball is picked off by Beanie Bishop! What a funky interception that was! Off the hands, and off the feet, and into the arms of Beanie Bishop,” said an excited Collins.

At first blush, fans believed Collins had dropped an F-bomb, but upon further review, he said “funky.”

However, fans weren’t quite sure, and they had fun discussing the matter on social media.
