Former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas was full of praise for both the Gunners and PSV Eindhoven in a huge clash in the Europa League group stages. Mikel Arteta's side knew going into the game that they could confirm top spot if they avoided defeat to their opponents, leaving a game spare in their qualification hopes.
That would also allow them to miss out a clash against a side dropping from the Champions League, with the manager already noting how important it is to get through in first. "We are going to play the same way we always play," Arteta told BT Sport before the game.
"We will come here to win the game and be dominant and try not to change the way we play. We are not coming here for a draw and we have made that very clear before the game."

The first half certainly didn't go as planned though as the home side caused plenty of problems. Cody Gakpo appeared to open the scoring with a deft chip over Aaron Ramsdale, however it was ruled out for offside in the same manner that Xavi Simons soon discovered his finish was also chalked off.
It was a clash that saw two sides try and play plenty of football on the ground, something that garnered plenty of praise from former midfielder Fabregas. He took to Twitter to say: "Loving the PSV vs Arsenal game. Two young teams that want to play attractive football with quality."
It has been the principle upon which both clubs work from, creating entertaining and free flowing games with the aim to perform as well as earn results.
