Remember the 2005/06 season?
Well, a certain moment from that campaign has been recreated once more. Ahead of Southampton vs Chelsea starting on Tuesday night, both teams were lined up in the St Marys tunnel, and a cheeky mascot decided to try and repeat a famous moment. Back in February 2006, in a big game before Chelsea vs Liverpool at Stamford Bridge, young Blues supporter at the time Jake Nickless reached out to shake the hand of Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard, but he decided to snub the midfielder.
To which Gerrard tapped him on the head as an appreciation for the effort. Now, the current Aston Villa manager isn't the only player to suffer such trolling as on Tuesday, August 30, the same thing happened to César Azpilicueta. The Spaniard, who made his 450th appearance donning the royal blue jersey, was lined up with the rest of the team when a certain Southampton mascot repeated Nickless' trick but this time on the 33-year-old.

The reaction of Azpilicueta was a simple smile and appreciation of the effort. But the important question was whether or not this fresh attempt eclipses or even comes anywhere near the Gerrard moment in the tunnel at Stamford Bridge. Here is some of the reaction.
@SAFCSpencer tweeted: 'Not as good as the original.
@abvbakr_ joked: 'Gerrard deffs sent this kid for payback.'
@adeoluwa07 said: 'lmaooo kids are so naughty man.'
@ch_ginge doubled down on the first verdict: 'Hahahahahahahahaha can't beat the original tho.'
