New Delhi: The Government of India has made key appointments to several ministries on Saturday, including the Ministry of Coal and Road Transport & Highways.
Subrata Gupta, an IAS officer from the 1990 batch, has been appointed as the Secretary of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries . He would replace Anita Praveen, an IAS officer from the 1989 batch (Tamil Nadu) .

Mr Punit Kumar Goyal, a 1991 batch IAS officer and currently the Chief Secretary of Goa, has been appointed Secretary, National Scheduled Tribes Empowerment (SCST) in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India.
Mr Tanmay Kumar, IAS (RJ:93), has been appointed as Special Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change as Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. He would replace Ms. Leena Nandan, IAS (UP:87) upon her superannuation on 31.12.2024.
Mr V. Umashankar, IAS (HY:93), presently in the cadre, as Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

Mr Vikram Dev Dutt, IAS (AGMUT:93), has been appointed as Secretary of Ministry of Coal. Currently, he is the Director General of Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
Surendra Kumar Bagde, a 1993 batch IAS officer, has been appointed as Director General of the National Center for Good Governance, Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India. He is currently Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MOHUA).
Gopalakrishnan, a 1991 batch IAS officer, has been appointed Chairman of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India. Krishnan will replace Rakesh Ranjan, a 1992 batch IAS officer. Presently Krishnan is the Director General of the National Productivity Council (NPC) under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
