The residents of Queropalca, Peru, have woken up to discover they’ll be spending the next few years under the rule of the ominously named Hitler Mussolini. The unusually monikered politician, representing the Ahora Nación party, has won the mayorship with 34.5% of the vote, compared to his closest competitor with 30.7%.
Hitler Mussolini Simeón Flores, to give him his full name, triumphed with 229 votes out of the 663 cast. If that sounds like a fairly small election, bear in mind that, as per the 2025 census, there are only around 650 people living in the district, so it must have had close to 100% turnout.
