Celtics sit starters in second half after falling behind 37 points to Bucks

The Boston Celtics got a big slice of humble pie a night after taking out the Minnesota Timberwolves in overtime at TD Garden the night before. A well-rested Milwaukee Bucks squad spanked the Celtics so bad in the first half of the game that Boston head coach Joe Mazzulla elected to sit his starters for the rest of the game.

Add in that the Bucks were playing for their pride given they had been beaten several times in a row by lesser teams in terms of record, and it was a recipe for a textbook scheduled loss. The decision to sit the starters by Mazzulla elicited some strong emotions on both sides of that debate. The choice of the league to put two high-interest games back-to-back like that is also a topic that has caught fire since the final buzzer.

NBC Sports Boston’s Brian Scalabrine, Eddie House and Amina Smith broke down their thoughts on the matter on “Postgame Live”.
