The Boston Celtics won their first game of the NBA’s 2023 Las Vegas Summer League on Wednesday night against the Los Angeles Lakers, 95-90, behind a breakout game by rookie wing Jordan Walsh. The former Arkansas Razorback put up a game-high 25 points and 8 rebounds while shooting 2-of-7 from beyond the arc,
Walsh had support in the victory from guard Jay Scrubb (18 points, 6 boards, 4 assists off the bench) and floor general Dalano Banton, who had 12 points and 6 assists in his summer league debut. Celtics two-way point guard JD Davison had a much more polished game, including a double-double with 11 points, as many boards and 6 assists. Boston wing Justin Champagnie also had a solid outing with 10 points and 7 boards.
With the win, Boston improves to 1-2 in Las Vegas Summer League action.
