The first game of a back-to-back, away-and-home series with the Brooklyn Nets ended in a 118-110 win for the Boston Celtics despite a strong fourth quarter push from the Nets, with Boston exploiting the margins of an otherwise close game work for them.
Both teams shot well from the field, with the Celtics shooting slightly better from the free throw line (73.9% to Brooklyn’s 65.4%), due in part to Boston ruthlessly exploiting the poor form at the line of both Ben Simmons and Nick Claxton. Getting up an additional four shots (83 to the Nets 79) and other minor wrinkles helped the Celtics fend off Brooklyn after letting a 23-point lead dwindle to a two-possession affair.
NBC Sports Boston’s Eddie House, Brian Scalabrine, Drew Carter and Tom Giles linked up after the win to talk about what they saw vs. Brooklyn on “Postgame Live”.
