Celtics injury update: Jaylen Brown PROBABLE, Jrue Holiday DOUBTFUL vs. Orlando Magic

Who will be available to play in the Black Friday matinée game between the Boston Celtics and the Orlando Magic at Florida’s Amway Center this afternoon is coming into focus. The Celtics have announced that All-NBA forward Jaylen Brown is now listed as probable for the game with a right adductor strain suffered in Boston’s win playing against the Memphis Grizzlies in in-season tournament play last week.

But the good news stops there, with veteran floor general Jrue Holiday’s status being downgraded to doubtful with a right ankle sprain presumably picked up in the Celtics win over Holiday’s old ball club, the Milwaukee Bucks, on Wednesday night.

While this iteration of the Orlando Magic should not be taken lightly — especially given that weaker versions of the Magic have bested Boston the last few times the two teams have met — Boston should be able to weather the absence of Holiday if he does indeed sit for the contest.
