The Boston Celtics faced a tougher challenge vs. the Orlando Magic. The Celtics, coming off a victory over the Milwaukee Bucks, seemed to have their minds and effort elsewhere as a stout Magic squad outworked the Celtics on the boards and on defense, with Boston seemingly unable to respond despite multiple attempts to regroup.
The absence of key players like Jrue Holiday, coupled with Kristaps Porzingis exiting the game early with a calf injury, didn’t help, but neither did shooting just 24.1%, from deep. Solid games from Jayson Tatum (26 points, 5 rebounds), Jaylen Brown (18 points), Derrick White (16 points, 5 boards) and Luke Kornet (12 points, 5 rebounds) off the bench had the Celtics in it for three quarters, but one of the team’s worst efforts of the season negated any success Boston found on the court.
The Celtics next play the Atlanta Hawks at home on Sunday.
