Celtics alum Tremont Waters signs with Gigantes de Carolina for 2023-24

Tremont Waters Celtics Carolina Metropolitans Metropolitans 92 Boston G League Puerto Rico

Former Boston Celtics floor general Tremont Waters signed with the Gigantes de Carolina of Carolina, Puerto Rico’s Baloncesto Superior Nacional league after leaving his prior club, Metropolitans 92 based in Levallois-Perret, France, according to Hoops Hype’s Alberto De Roa.

That club, playing in the French LNB Pro A league, featured Waters as the starting point guard next to the highly-coveted big man prospect Victor Wembenyama this past season. Waters, a Connecticut native, was drafted out of LSU by Boston in 2019, and played for the Celtics until he signed with the Wisconsin Herd in 2021, the G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks.
