Celtic winger James Forrest signs three-year contract extension

CELTIC winger James Forrest has signed a contract extension that will keep him at Parkhead until the summer of 2025.

The 30-year-old found himself in and out of the starting XI this season and the occasional injury has kept the Scotland internationalist sidelined, but still racked up 32 appearances in all competitions this term.

The wide midfielder is the fourth-most decorated player in the Glasgow club's history with 10 league titles, five Scottish Cups and five League Cups to his name and manager Ange Postecoglou is keen to see the one-club man add to an already impressive legacy.

“James is my kind of player and has that attacking intent that can open up defences to make goals, not only for himself, but for others as well," Postecoglou told the Celtic website.

“He’s been a great servant to the football club thanks to his brilliant quality and attributes, and those have made him a proven contributor to the club’s success – you only have to look at his medal collection to see that.

“I know we will get more of this from him next season and beyond, and I’m delighted that this deal has been finalised.”
