Celtic transfer update on Jota and Carter Vickers as negotiation 'end date' looms for coveted duo

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou remains confident transfer talks with standout loanees Jota and Cameron Carter–Vickers will bring good news.

The pair have been smash hits at Parkhead with both contributing greatly to a side which has secured the Premier Sports Cup and title glory.

Benfica star Jota is available for £6.5m with supporters hopeful the winger will pen a long-term commitment to remain at Parkhead.

And it's a similar story for Carter-Vickers, Record Sport revealed last month Celtic are leading the race but significant interest from England remains in the Tottenham star.

But Postecoglou is positive with the champions able to guarantee a crack at the Champions League group stage next season.

He's expecting a quick decision from the loan stars, who he is looking to tie down on permanent deals.

He said: “I wouldn’t expect it to drag on for too long. There is an end date for these things and hopefully it’s a conclusion that we are all happy with.”

Meanwhile, Ola Solbakken has been linked with a move to Roma with reports in the Eternal City claiming a five-year deal has been agreed.

Celtic have been touted as a potential destination for the Bodo/Glimt star but it appears Jose Mourinho is stepping up his pursuit in a player he faced four times in this season's Europa Conference League.
