Celtic transfer talk kicked out by Callum McGregor as he makes 'not unsettling' statement

Callum McGregor is confident that Celtic will retain all of their key men this summer with a huge season on the agenda at Parkhead.

A number of Ange Postecoglou's top players have been discussed in the transfer rumour mill after a hugely successful season last term. Josip Juranovic has been linked with English giants Manchester United and Chelsea following just one season at Celtic Park. Team-mate Giorgos Giakmoukais is reported to have had some interest from down south while Matt O'Riley has been attracting the eye of Leicester City boss and ex-Hoops man Brendan Rodgers.

Celtic are looking to make it back-to-back titles this term after recapturing the Premiership crown from Rangers last season. That triumph earned direct entry to the Champions League group stages, with the Scottish champions set to mix it at Europe's top table.

Domestically, the Hoops have picked up where they left off last season with three wins from three games. They've already fired home 10 goals and are in a good place.

Skipper McGregor says it's an 'exiting time' to be a Celtic player and can't see anyone wanting to leave in a hurry with a super close bond between the squad.

He said: “It’s a good place to be. There are a lot of players who have just came in to the club and they are just at the start of their journeys here in terms of what they want to achieve.

“We’ve got the Champions League, defending the league title – it’s an exciting time. I wouldn’t imagine anyone would be wanting to go anywhere too quickly.”

He added: "It's been fine. When the team is doing well there’s bound to be speculation.

"We’ve all been in football long enough to know it’s just speculation until something concrete happens. Then you deal with it when it comes.

“We’ve got a really good environment here in the training ground and on the pitch. Everyone is super close and we’re all working hard together.

“Everyone is in good spirits and focused on the football we are playing. Until something concrete happens it’s not unsettling in the slightest. We’re just getting on with it.”
