Celtic haven't been shy of new arrivals this summer as Ange Postecoglou looks to keep the Scottish Premiership crown at Celtic Park while preparing for the Champions League.
And the incomings don't look to be over as we edge closer to the end of the transfer window, with Postecoglou admitting he would like to add one or two players who can cover a number of different positions. While offloading the likes of Christopher Jullien, Albian Ajeti and Mikey Johnston will be high on the Australian's to do list, there is still plenty of work to be done in terms of new signings.
After the rout of Kilmarnock, Postecoglou profiled his ideal recruit ahead of September 1. He said: "I still think if we can find a player or two who can play more than one position in the way we play I think that will help us." One versatile player Celtic will have to move quickly to land is Ryan Mmaee, with the forward attracting a number of suitors as he steps up his return to fitness with Ferencvaros.
Record Sport revealed earlier this summer that the 24-year-old has been scouted extensively by Celtic. Foot Mercato report that Saint-Étienne view the attacker as the man that can fire them back to Ligue 1 following their relegation last term, and talks have reportedly already begun with the player.
However, the Hungarian champions are reluctant to let Mmaee leave this summer with the club pushing for the Europa League, after dropping out of the Champions League qualifiers. A fee has yet to be agreed between the sides, opening the door for Celtic to gate crash a deal.
A midfield enforcer appears to have been high on Postecoglou's wish list this summer, and Mohammad Abu Fani looks to have become a live option. The Maccabi Haifa star has been watched by Parkhead scouts on several occasions.
The Israeli side are now reportedly keen to offload the midfielder. Israeli outlet Sport One state that the club want to use Abu Fani's fee to fund the remainder of their transfer business.
The report states that Haifa boss Barak Becher wants to add "one or two" players in key areas. However, this will only be possible if "Abu Fani fulfils his dream and finds a team overseas."
Marseille's Bamba Dieng was also reportedly targeted by Celtic with the versatile Marseille attacker dropping down the pecking order at the Ligue 1 side. The arrival of Alexi Sanchez looks to have signalled the end of the 22-year-old's time at the club.
However, that hasn't dropped the asking price with a host of clubs chasing a deal. Foot Mercato state Dieng is wanted by the Scottish Premiership champions, Newcastle United, Crystal Palace, Everton, Fulham, Leeds United and West Ham United.
The has reportedly allowed Marseille to slap a €15m asking price on the striker, which has put off the likes of Celtic, Everton and Fulham.
