Celtic transfer assessed as club admit 'huge loss' in selling key ace to Hoops but deal a 'miracle'

Rubin Kazan sporting director Oleg Yarovinski says the fee they have landed from Sead Haksabanovic is one that leaves them extremely satisfied.

The Hoops have signed the Montenegro international for a reported fee of around £1.7 million and he takes up their number nine shirt as their new number nine. He joins Daizen Maeda, Benjamin Siegrist, Cameron-Carter-Vickers, Jota, Alexandro Bernabei, Moritz Jenz and Aaron Mooy as permanent or loan arrivals in Parkhead this summer. He will be another attacking option for boss Ange Postecoglou, with Haksabanovic able to play on the flanks or as a striker.

Yarovinski says it is a miracle his side managed to get what they did for the former West Ham United they paid £5.4 million to sign from Swedish side IFK Norrkoping just a year ago. Rubin Kazan are delighted to get some sort of money for him from Celtic, even if it's a big loss, after previously slamming UEFA and FIFA for allowing their foreign players to leave for free amid their nation's war with Ukraine.

Sporting director Yarovinski told the Scottish Sun : "Regarding the sale of Haksabanovic to Celtic, we managed to recoup a significant transfer fee.

"And in the current situation that we find ourselves in, I would call that a miracle that we managed to get that. To get real money into this club is a great success.

"Of course, when we signed him, we counted on a much more profitable resale, but the world has changed. His departure is a huge loss for the club because he was a very important player for us."
