Celtic to pay respects to Frank McGarvey during Rangers derby after Ibrox disaster tribute

Celtic will wear black armbands in respect for Frank McGarvey, Pele and former Pope Benedict XVI during their encounter with Rangers after a minute's silence is held for the victims of the 1971 Ibrox Disaster.

Rangers stated they would host their annual service and the silence to remember the 66 fans who died in a crush 51 years ago to the day.

Former Celtic striker McGarvey died on New Year's Day after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer several months ago.
