Celtic hero Charlie Nicholas reckons that his former club are taking the Premiership title back to Parkhead this season - and their rivals are going to be left with nothing.
The former striker has made some bold calls ahead of a season where the Light Blues will hope to join their Glasgow counterparts in the Champions League group stages, on top of taking their title off them. He believes that in addition to Rangers failing to remove Celtic from the league summit, Jim Goodwin will lead Aberdeen to their first League Cup and piece of silverware since 2014 while new Dundee United head coach Jack Ross is tipped for Scottish Cup glory.
He believes the difference between Hoops goalkeeper Joe Hart and 40-year-old Govan stopper Allan McGregor could be a telling difference. He said in his Daily Express column: "I think Celtic’s squad is stronger. Rangers have some good young players coming through but they are unknown and we will need to see how they develop.

"I said at the end of last season that I felt Rangers needed seven signings. They are now on the verge of that and van Bronckhorst shared my view and knew what the problem was.
"When they get Ridvan Yilmaz in from Besiktas, the Rangers manager has said that will be his final signing. I still think he has business to be done. I think they can cover as many positions as Celtic although their bench isn’t as strong.
"That and the goalkeeping department is where Celtic have the edge and why I think the Premiership trophy will remain at Parkhead this season.
"I expect a big improvement from Aberdeen this season and I can even say them lifting the Premier Sports Cup. I am also looking forward to seeing Dundee United.
"It might take them a wee while to get his team sorted but I can see them coming good later in the season and winning the Scottish Cup."
No silverware would be a nightmare for Rangers, who begin their campaign on Saturday at Livingston. Celtic meanwhile host Aberdeen a day later.
