Shamed socialite Marcus Sweeney has admitted he brought a recent Criminal Assets Bureau case on himself.
However, he denied he knew that some of the major criminals he was dealing with were heroin smugglers.
Last month, the Celtic Tiger restaurateur was described as being “up to his oxters” in organised crime by a High Court judge.

The court heard allegations Sweeney had business dealings with convicted heroin dealer Brian Grendon, from a major drugs gang known as The Family.
Speaking for the first time about the case, Sweeney admitted he was “s***ting” himself when gardai raided his home.
The 45-year-old said: “It was f***ing horrible. You get raided in your house. You are locked up and it’s all over the news. I was sick in my stomach.
“To be honest I created the situation, so you’ve got to live with it.”
Speaking in an interview in the Sunday Independent, Sweeney said: “I’m not contesting any of this because it’s draining me.
He also claimed he wasn’t aware of Grendon’s links to the drugs trade. He said: “Under no circumstances would any man identify himself as that.”
