Ange Postecoglou has named his Celtic starting XI that will take on Motherwell this afternoon.
Cameron Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt are missing in the centre of defence, affording another chance for Moritz Jenz and Stephen Welsh to impress. Giorgos Giakoumakis is the other player out of this one through injury so Kyogo Furuhashi plays through the middle. Sead Haksabanovic pulled up with an injury on Montenegro duty but is fit enough to make the bench, with Daizen Maeda starting and David Turnbull also overcoming fitness concerns but among the subs to make this one.
Postecoglou watched his Celtic side lose 2-0 to St Mirren last time out on Premiership business and currently trail Rangers by a point as they lead Hearts in the early kick-off at Tynecastle. He said ahead of the game: “Whilst we’ve been a very good team, particularly over the last 12 months in terms of progress, we’re under no illusions we’re nowhere near the team we want to be.
