Celtic show mental strength on day of experimentation and joy at Parkhead - 3 things we learned

Celtic came from behind to win 2-1 in their latest Premiership match against Ross County, as they went three games clear in the title race.

A victory was targeted in one final match before the World Cup break and that need was heightened after Rangers' 1-1 draw with St Mirren in the lunchtime kick-off. Kyogo Furuhashi and Cameron Carter-Vickers both had chances as a stubborn Staggies side looked to prove frustrating and they did try to threaten themselves with the likes of George Harmon.

It was Malky Mackay's men who got in front as David Cancola converted their first penalty of the season to put real pressure on the champions. They responded with a goal by David Turnbull and a fantastic effort by Sead Haksabanovic to ensure they take a big advantage in the title race heading into a four-week hiatus. Here are three things we learned as the Celtic players secured a big win in Glasgow's east-end.

Pre-match intrigue

A talking point from this one actually occurred between four and two hours before kick-off at Parkhead.

The Hoops announced that between 11am and 1pm, alcohol would be served in the West Stand Concourse. It's long been banned in football stadiums outside hospitality environments and this move will be viewed with keen interest.

Hatate boost

There's a big reason why the Hoops are now nine points ahead of their rivals and that's their Japanese maestro in midfield.

He has stepped up big style with captain Callum McGregor out, contributing two assists when his side needed imagination. So unfortunate not to be going to the World Cup.

Taking stock

Ever since the end of August, Postecoglou's side have been playing matches every two, three or four days, outside international windows.

This next month is now a great chance for the Australian to rest some of his men, with only Daizen Maeda, Josip Juranovic and Aaron Mooy off to the World Cup. His mantra is 'we never stop' but this is an ideal time to apply the handbrake, especially with a sizeable lead.
