Celtic player ratings vs Aberdeen as Kyogo Furuhashi magnificent, Carl Starfelt solid

Celtic ended their poor run of form with an emphatic 5-0 win over Aberdeen on Saturday afternoon with Kyogo Furuhashi surely wrapping up the Scottish Premiership Golden Boot.

Having failed to win in their last three games, the Hoops took to Parkhead with winning on their mind ahead of a Scottish Cup final showdown against Inverness Caledonian Thistle next week. It was party mode at Celtic Park; the Hoops were celebrating both their title win and their Scottish League Cup success on a day of celebration, and that relayed onto the pitch.

Kyogo could've had four in the first half, though his best effort was rewarded after spinning the Dons defence and lashing a strike into the top right-hand corner in front of a jubilant Celtic Park. He then doubled his tally just moments later after Kelle Roos spilled Callum McGregor's effort, and it was game over from there.

Kyogo then went off injured as he now faces a race to full fitness for the final next week, but the game didn't peter out with Carl Starfelt and Oh both scoring headers within three minutes of each other towards the end of the game - whilst the latter scored his second in stoppage time.

It's another win for the Hoops - here's how Glasgow Live rated each player.

Joe Hart - 6

He had quite literally nothing to do. A catch from a nodded-down corner on the stroke of half-time were the extents of his efforts - you can't score a player higher than that if all they did was stand on their goal line!

Alistair Johnston - 6

Steady return for the Canadian after a long injury lay-off but he went off injured just after the hour.

Carl Starfelt - 8

Solid as ever, neat on the ball and almost scored in the first half. Really come into his own recently and bagged a bullet header.

Tomoki Iwata - 6

Looked much more assured on the ball, and the type of performance that Ange Postecoglou will relish. Becoming a solid utility man.

Greg Taylor - 7

All of Aberdeen's attacks came down his side, but he dealt with them easily and even bagged an assist for Kyogo's opener.

Callum McGregor - 7

He just never puts in a bad performance. The lynchpin of Celtic's side, energetic as always.

Matt O'Riley - 7

Top quality performance from the Englishman. Never looked like losing the ball and was key in linking defence to attack.

Reo Hatate - 6

Perhaps just lacked that composure in the final third but did cause Aberdeen problems by pulling their midfield apart with some top-notch movement.

Liel Abada - 7

Gave Jonny Hayes some real thinking to do down the right-hand side but couldn't quite find the end product needed. Subbed.

Jota - 6

Similar to Abada, but didn't really give Aberdeen that same scare. Not a bad performance, but was one of Celtic's less effective players. Unlucky with his late free-kick.

Kyogo - 9

Almost scored within the first minute, and you knew from there he would cause Aberdeen problems. Superb strike from the Scottish Premiership's top goalscorer to open proceedings, and quick as a flash to grab his second. Hobbled off injured.

Subs

Oh - 8

Came on for the injured Kyogo just after the break. Tried hard to create an opening and was rewarded with a great header before turning home from Jota's bar-struck free kick in stoppage time. A superb replacement.

James Forrest - 5

On for Abada before the hour, but with the game wrapped up, he didn't have many chances to prolong the lead.

Anthony Ralston - 5

Another injury replacement, this time for Alistair Johnston. Solid and steady away.

David Turnbull - 4

Has been a bit-part player this season and didn't have enough time to make an impact.

Ben Summers - 4

The youngster appears to be the diamond of Celtic's youth academy and didn't look out of place today.
