Celtic have paid a heartfelt tribute to club legend Tommy Callaghan after he passed away on Friday morning aged 78.
The midfielder spent eight years at Parkhead and was part of the Hoops’ famous nine-a-row winning side in the 1974 season.

Callaghan joined from Dunfermline in 1968 and went on to make 264 appearances for Jock Stein’s side. He became the only player the Scottish manager signed twice.
Across a trophy-laden career with the Hoops, Callaghan won six league titles, five Scottish Cups and three League Cups.
He left Celtic in 1976 to join Clydebank, where he spent two years before finishing his career with Galway Rovers in Ireland.
In a statement posted on social media and their club website on Friday, Celtic said: “We are saddened to hear that former player, Tommy Callaghan passed away early this morning at the age of 78.
“The thoughts and prayers of everyone at Celtic FC are with his friends and family at this sad time.”
