Celtic have missed out on summer transfer target Elias Filet.
The goal machine who hit 22 strikes last season for French outfit FC Aarau was wanted by the Hoops as they sought a new frontman.
Celtic had reached out to his representation and the club to learn the finances it would take to bring him to Glasgow.
Now, however, the Scottish champions have lost out on their target as he has now signed for RAAL La Louvière in Belgium's Pro League as he takes on a fresh challenge.
It is understood Filet was interested in a move to Parkhead but opted for a switch elsewhere.
Filet had other options on the table, also, with Genk reportedly tabling an offer while FC Lorient were also credited with an interest in the attacker.
Martin O'Neill knows his side need more firepower and Filet might have been an ideal replacement for Tomas Cvancara who left from his loan stint last season. Kelechi Iheanacho is yet to sign a new deal with the Hoops and Daizen Maeda may well leave this summer.
That would leave Celts light up front. Filet had only a year left on his contract with Aarau and would not have cost a pretty penny and that's why Louviere swooped.
Celtic want as many as six new bodies in the door before the end of the summer window.
