Brendan Rodgers is set to meet Dermot Desmond for face to face talks in London to discuss a stunning Celtic reunion.
The 50-year-old Co Antrim native is mulling over a return to his former club and Celtic's principal shareholder has contacted Rodgers directly after a delegation from the club travelled to Mallorca to speak. And now the Daily Mail state a potential deal has reached the next stage with Rodgers poised for a trip to the big smoke to meet Celtic supremo Desmond.
Rodgers enjoyed a trophy-laden stay in Glasgow with seven consecutive leagues and cups secured before his sudden exit for Leicester City in 2019. And now Rodgers is weighing up whether or not to say yes to Celtic and become the man to succeed Ange Postecoglou after his move to Tottenham after his own Treble at the helm at Parkhead, reports The Daily Record.
Celtic can offer plenty with a loaded first-team squad and guaranteed Champions League football on offer to their next manager. Rodgers appeared primed to take an extended leave from football after leaving the Foxes but he is keen to hear what Celtic have to say as he considers his next move.
Enzo Maresca, Kjetil Knutsen and and Francesco Farioli are other names in the frame but it Rodgers is in pole position to land a job he knows all about. Punters appear to be warming to a return for a manager who left many miffed by his decision to join Leicester.
