Celtic are one of several clubs reportedly looking at Viktoria Plzen midfielder Cheick Souare.

The Parkhead side are looking to add another midfielder on top of recent arrival Mika Baur, after selling Arne Engels to West Ham for £22million and with Reo Hatate possibly on the way out too.

They hold an interest in Torino’s Gvidas Gineitis and Hajduk Split star Niko Sigur, but Souare is the latest name reportedly on the radar.

But Celtic are just one of a number of clubs interested in the 23-year-old.

Journalist Lorenzo Lepore claims Serie A duo Genoa and Monza as well as Spanish outfit Getafe, are in the mix too. The latter had an offer of £2.1m rejected earlier this summer.

It comes after Hatate rejected offers to leave Celtic from Greece, Austria and America’s MLS.

The Japanese international has told the club he wants to leave but offers from Panathanaikos and unnamed teams in Austria and the USA have not been enough to tempt him as of yet.

Hatate is keen to play in one of the top five leagues and has previously had interest from Udinese.
