Celtic loanee's future to be decided 'within next few days' as talks continue

On-loan Celtic winger Luis Palma is expected to learn his future within the next few days, according to Lech Poznan press officer Adrian Galuszka.

The Honduras international joined the Polish side on a season-long loan last summer and has impressed throughout the campaign, playing a key role in their Ekstraklasa performances.

Lech Poznań have the option to make the move permanent, although the original agreement includes a €4million release clause, a fee that would represent a record outlay for the club and one of the highest in Ekstraklasa history.

However, Celtic are understood to be open to negotiations, with reports suggesting the Scottish champions could lower their asking price to around €3 million.

Speaking to Meczyki, Galuszka acknowledged Palma’s impact and hinted that clarity on his future is imminent. “It’s no secret that Luis has felt at home in Poznań throughout this season,” he said.

“He’s been able to work his magic, be effective, contribute key statistics, and play a part in several important results for the team.”

He added: “We have to wait for the final decisions. We knew from the start that they would come after the season. I suspect it will be a matter of the next few days.”

With negotiations ongoing and Palma keen to continue his progress, a resolution is expected shortly as Lech weigh up whether to meet Celtic’s revised valuation.
