Celtic in Rangers injury boost as star passed fit for crucial Scottish Cup clash by Ange Postecoglou

Wishaw's David Turnbull has avoided another injury and will be available for Celtic this weekend against Rangers.

The Scotland international was a doubt for the Scottish Cup semi-final clash at Hampden Park after taking a heavy knock in Premiership competition against St Johnstone last Saturday.

But manager Ange Postecoglou has confirmed in his pre-match press conference that the blow has been overcome and the Motherwell academy graduate could appear in Easter Sunday's battle.

It's a big game for Celtic as they look to build on winning the League Cup and a six-point gap in the title race by moving into this season's showpiece final.

Turnbull's return softens the blow of losing influential striker Giorgos Giakoumakis to a hamstring injury.

Wishaw's Hoops star has missed most of 2022 with a hamstring problem, picked up on his last visit to the national stadium when Celtic won the Premier Sports Cup in December against Hibs.

He has nine goals and eight assists from 37 matches this term.
