Chris Sutton has brutally trolled former Rangers manager Michael Beale after his Sunderland side fell to defeat in their derby clash against Newcastle.
Beale's side were beaten 3-0 at the Stadium of Light as Eddie Howe's men dumped their rivals out of the FA Cup in the third round encounter.
And Sutton - who clashed with Beale during his stint as Ibrox boss - couldn't resist a jibe at Beale as he referenced his derby record in Scotland.
Beale won just once against Celtic from six attempts as Ibrox boss - a 3-0 win in May last year. Celtic won four of the other five matches with one draw between the clubs during Beale's tenure.
Pundit Sutton branded Sunderland's defeat as "one sided a derby game since...Mick Beale's recent meaningful derby games."
On X, formerly Twitter, Sutton posted: "Newcastle so far ahead of Sunderland!!
"As one sided a derby game since…most of Mick Beale’s recent meaningful derby games…"
Sutton and Beale had become embroiled in a war of words last year after Sutton questioned whether the then Ibrox boss would have allowed an uncontested goal against Celtic in the wake of Rangers' Scottish Cup win over Partick Thistle.
Beale had ordered his side allow Thistle to score after Malik Tillman's controversial strike at Ibrox.
In response to Sutton's comments, Beale said: "Growing up, I was a fan of Chelsea.
“So there is one pundit around here who is the worst ever player to play for Chelsea.
"That is why I won’t mention his name — I try to forget him.
“There are pundits that are comedy acts. There are ex-players who are comedy acts."
On his exit from Rangers, Sutton blasted Beale with a stinging retort, stating: "There are some managers that are comedy acts…"
