Celtic hero Chris Sutton in Rangers 'deserved' verdict as Alfredo Morelos call 'totally vindicated'

Celtic hero Chris Sutton has sent a message of congratulations to Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Rangers as he labelled his Alfredo Morelos decision as 'totally vindicated'.

The Light Blues put in another stunning European performance as they defeated Dutch giants PSV in their own back yard to secure a spot in the Champions League group stage and with that banked the riches that come with competing in Europe's elite competition.

The Dutchman had issues in the build-up to the clash with all talk surrounding the Colombian striker following the decision to leave him out of his travelling party. Issues surrounding fitness and attitude were cited for the huge call. Rangers also faced problems on their journey to the Philips Stadion last night with the Ibrox gaffer branding the scenes as 'the worst I've seen.'

Summer recruit Antonio Colak has settled into life as a Rangers player with ease following his arrival at the club earlier in the window and he was the matchwinner as he took his tally to five goals in six games. He was on hand to fire home from close range after brilliant play from Malik Tillman to capitalise on a mistake at the back before rolling the ball to his team-mate.

Victory sees Rangers join Ange Postecoglou and his Celtic side in the draw, with both sides discovering their fate later this evening.

It was another famous European night for Van Bronckhorst and his troops - who picked up some huge scalps on their way to the Europa League Final last year - and Hoops hero Sutton was full of praise for their latest achievement.

He tweeted: "Well done to Gio van Bronckhorst a huge decision to leave out of condition Morelos behind and totally vindicated.

"Mature performance from Rangers, they deserved that."
