The rammy at Recreation Park rumbles on after Barry Ferguson hit back at Celtic’s claims his Alloa side were out of order.
Hoops punters reckon the Wasps were out to sting Celts and the former Rangers man was back in the firing line.
Brian Allan emailed; “Ferguson says Alloa had Celtic on the ropes. What game was Barry at? I watched the game and Celtic were far superior.
“If Alloa was to play Rangers I am sure Barry would have his team lying down and saying Rangers were unbelievable.
“But against Celtic the other day he sent his team out to hatchet as many Celtic players as possible.”
Jim McClean, Rothesay, said: “ Alloa are the dirtiest team I have witnessed in Scotland for years, obviously Barry Ferguson sent them out to maim Celtic and he won’t convince me otherwise."
Denis Bruce, Bishopbriggs, said: “If his team had experienced over-enthusiastic tackling by opposition players, told by their manager to get in the faces of his team, would Barry Ferguson have just shrugged his shoulders and said, ‘that's football,’ or would he have been incandescent about the dangerous tackles flying in?”
Eddie Easson, Fife, said: “Now we have Wee Baz admitting on these pages that he sent players out to bite a few ankles. I rest my case.”
But Davy Matson, via email, said: “Alloa were not dangerous, they just played a man's game, no pussy-footing around.
“If you want your team wrapped up in cotton wool then join the tiddlywinks league.”
But Stuart McLeod emailed: “Ironic all platforms have been inundated with Celtic fans complaining about the refereeing of their Scottish cup tie with Alloa despite spending the weekend chastising Rangers for the same thing. This is a club who publicly slaughtered refereeing and the SFA at their last AGM.
John Bruce, via email, said: “Hypocrisy is a word missing from Celtic fans' vocabulary. After dishing out criticism here to Rangers fans who complained about Kevin Clancy's shocking performance in the Aberdeen game, guess who were queuing up to complain about the referee in the Alloa v Celtic game.
“It will be interesting to see how Celtic fair against a big, physical side like Hearts, where complaints against the referee are a near certainty.”
Callum McGregor is facing time out and David Bryce, Troon, said: “I wish McGregor a speedy recovery. It was a nasty collision and I hope he’s okay. On a side note, McGregor has been really poor since the restart. I have no fears re Bitton replacing him.
“In my opinion nir is a better player and has been outstanding for Celtic this season.
“I also think O’Riley will come in and do a job for us."
But Stephen Johnstone, Ardentinney , said: “McGregor is the maestro in the team and without him Celtic will drop points and possibly get knocked out of the cup leaving Rangers to win at a canter.”

Andy Adams, Kirkcaldy , said: “So is it Nottingham Forest or West Brom for Connor Goldson? It looks like he's destination will be the Championship, probably his level, he must be getting good money to give up the chance of playing European football, maybe even Champions League football.
“Best of luck to him, he'll know how big a club he's leaving when he's gone, but it'll be too late by then.”
Frank McFerran, Carrickfergus, said: “As a Rangers fan I would like Souttar to join Rangers now, but Hearts have every right to ask for a reasonable fee, Rangers fans should accept and understand their reasons.”
