Celtic dominate killer Scottish Premiership stat as top 10 most valuable players revealed

STATISTICS have revealed that Ange Postecoglou's Celtic dominate the Scottish Premiership in terms of players with the most 'On-Ball Value'.

The Hoops are flying high at the top of the table despite losing their last league outing against St Mirren in Paisley.

Celtic currently sit two points clear of city rivals Rangers and new data from leading statistic company StatsBomb show that the Parkhead outfit currently have the most influential players in their team.

The 'On-Ball Value' model is a possession value model that objectively and quantitatively measures the value of each event on the pitch.

In short, it’s a model that looks to assign a value to each action that takes place on the football pitch based on the positive (or negative) impact the action has on the team’s likelihood of scoring (and conceding).

Liel Abada currently tops the charts with a figure of 0.80, while Moritz Jenz (0.55), Josip Juranovic (0.49) and Jota (0.48) are also included in the top 10 charts.

Hearts winger Barrie McKay is second in the table with a score of 0.56, with Alan Forrest also making the cut with a total of 0.47.

Rangers captain James Tavernier (0.51) is the only Ibrox star to make the top 10.

Hibs midfielder Josh Campbell (0.52), Motherwell's Sean Goss (0.43) and Livingston's Cristian Montano (0.42) make up the rest of the list.

It should be noted that the list only comprises of players who have played 300 minutes of football or more and only includes performances in the Scottish Premiership.
