Celtic will be without key defensive duo Cameron Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt, as well as striker Giorgos Giakoumakis, for this weekend's clash with Motherwell.
The Hoops are looking to get their Premiership title defence back on track after their first league defeat in 364 days against St Mirren just before the international break. Ange Postecoglou and his team host Motherwell, who are looking for a response of their own after a poor run going into the break took the wind out of Stevie Hammell's impressive start.
Carter-Vickers and Starfelt both missed the defeat to St Mirren with injury with Moritz Jenz and Stephen Welsh starting the clash in Paisley. And it's likely to be that pairing again after Postecoglou confirmed his first-choice duo are still missing.
Meanwhile he also confirmed Giakoumakis will be out with Kyogo expected to lead the line. After revealing that trio would miss out, he said: “That’s why we’ve got the squad we have, particularly with our schedule over the next month and a half.
“We’re going to get niggles and some guys who are sore here and there. That’s why we’ve got the squad we have, to be able to cope with that.
“We’ve known it was going to be like that for a while so you just plan for it. In terms of training and how we built the squad and the way we’ve prepared for what’s 13 games in about 43 days.
“We’ve been planning for a while and the process is just to look at each game and see how people are from a physical and mental standpoint and make decisions as we go along.”
