Celtic are considering signing Atalanta defender Mitchel Bakker, according to a new report.
The club is looking to strengthen its squad for the upcoming season.
Bakker, a left-sided defender, is being "closely monitored" by Celtic, according to Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb. Atalanta are reportedly open to selling the 26-year-old, with interest from clubs in Serie A and the Turkish Super Lig.
Bakker joined Atalanta in 2023 after stints with Ajax, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayer Leverkusen. He was part of the squad that won the Europa League in his debut season.

However, injuries have affected his time in Italy, and he only made one appearance for Atalanta last season after a loan spell at Lille.
Celtic have already strengthened their squad this summer, signing Colombian striker Camilo Duran from FK Qarabag for £6 million.
He scored in his first outing for the club in their 4-1 friendly defeat to Sporting CP. However, more reinforcements are needed, and Bakker could be the next addition.
The club is also in talks over a return for Marcelo Saracchi, who impressed during his previous spell at Parkhead.
Saracchi is available after being deemed surplus to requirements at Boca Juniors.
