Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou named SFWA Manager of the Year ahead of Parkhead trophy day celebration

Ange Postecoglou has been named the Scottish Football Writers' Association Manager of the Year.

The Celtic boss was part of a four-man shortlist that included Aberdeen boss Barry Robson, St Mirren' Stephen Robinson and James McPake of Dunfermline after his League One title triumph as the Pars return to the Scottish Championship next sason.

But it's the Hoops gaffer who retains the prize he won during his first campaign in Glasgow with his side just potentially 90 minutes away from a domestic Treble. They round off the Scottish Premiership campaign this afternoon on trophy day against Aberdeen before all eyes turn to Inverness and Hampden next weekend.

The Hoops defeated rivals Rangers in the League Cup Final earlier this year to kick off the trophy haul for this campaign before quickly following that up with back to back league triumphs under the 57-year-old - who has been strongly linked with Tottenham.

They then defeated Michael Beale and his Light Blues at the national stadium in the Scottish Cup semi-final to set up a date with Caley Thistle and the chance to complete a clean sweep and lift the one trophy that escaped them last season. They will return to the Champions League group stage next season in another all round successful campaign.

William Hill’s Head of Sponsorship, Media & PR Daryl West said “On behalf of everyone at William Hill we’d like to congratulate Ange Postecoglou on winning the SFWA Manager of the Year award for a second year in a row.

“After another emphatic season, Ange is undoubtedly writing himself into the rich history books of Celtic Football Club. It’s an honour for everyone at William Hill to be associated with such a deserved winner of this prestigious award.”
