Celtic and Rangers fans given travel warning ahead of Scottish Cup semi-final clash

Fans of Celtic and Rangers have been told to 'plan ahead' as thousands expected to travel to Hampden for Scottish Cup clash.

The Old Firm clubs are set to meet on Sunday, April 30, to battle it out for a place in the final where they will meet either Falkirk or Inverness, who play on Saturday.

Hoops fans are being urged to travel to and from Kings Parks, while those supporting Rangers are being told to use Mount Florida.

Those planning on travelling by train are being advised to book tickets in advance.

A ScotRail statement read: "There’s a lot of big events on this weekend, so plan ahead if you’re travelling in or around the West of Scotland. We’ll be adding extra seats to as many trains as possible to help get you where you need to be.

"Falkirk take on Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Hampden on Saturday in the first Scottish Cup semi-final of the weekend. Celtic face Rangers the following day in the second fixture.

"There’s also the Pavilion Festival taking place at Low Green in Ayr and Stereofunk 2023 in Chatelherault County Park. There’ll be queues in place at key stations before and after each of the Scottish Cup semi-finals, including Glasgow Central, Mount Florida, Kings Park.

"On Sunday, Celtic fans should travel to and from Kings Park, while Rangers supporters should use Mount Florida.

"To save time and reduce the need to queue, you can buy your tickets in advance via the ScotRail app and download them straight to your phone.
