Celtic 'agree £9.5m transfer deal with sell-on clause' for Adam Idah

Celtic have reportedly agreed a transfer deal to sign Adam Idah from Norwich.

The 23-year-old played for Norwich in a substitute appearance in the loss to Oxford last weekend but is now primed to join Celtic.

It's claimed lengthy negotiations have finally resulted in an agreement between the two clubs for the striker to return to Glasgow after a loan spell last season.

Sky Sports claim an initial fee of £8.5m will be paid to Norwich with a further £1m in add-ons included in the negotiations.

The Championship club have also inserted a sell-on clause in the deal meaning they would be due 15 per cent of any future transfer fee for the striker should he leave Celtic.

Idah has been a long-term transfer target for Celtic after impressing in his six-month spell in Scotland in the second half of last season.

He scored nine goals in 19 outings for Celtic as he helped the club to a Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup double.

Brendan Rodgers had said of attempts to sign Idah on Sunday: "It's ongoing. I have no update on it. He is obviously a player that did really well for us last year.

"But he's still a Norwich player, he came on for them yesterday. I don't want to speak too much on him.

"We'll see what the rest of the window brings."
