Celtic ace Anthony Ralston bursting with pride after first Scotland goal

Celtic ace Anthony Ralston bursting with pride after first Scotland goal

CELTIC star Anthony Ralston admits he was bursting with pride after scoring his first goal for Scotland

The right-back made his first international start for the country this evening against Armenia.

The Nations League group match finished 2-0 at Hampden, with Ralston and Scott McKenna getting on the scoresheet.

Ralston got up and down the right wing all night, causing havoc among the Armenia defence.

His delivery was always inviting and defenders struggled to handle his attacking threat.

Stuart Armstrong floated in a superb cross for Ralston, who headed home across goal.

And the defender, 23, says it's a moment that will live with him forever.

He told Premier Sports: "It felt amazing. To get my first start and then my first goal all in the one is a lot to take in.

"But I enjoyed every minute of it and it was an amazing experience and I'm just glad I contributed to the team.

"It's a very proud moment for myself and my wee girl and my family was here tonight. It's something that will live with me forever."

Ralston was substituted off after 75-minutes, as Nathan Patterson came off the bench after a spell out through injury.
