Marty McKenna has sparked outrage among Celebs Go Dating fans after using sexist and misogynistic terms to describe women.
The 27-year-old Geordie Shore star had previously explained that he was signing up to the hit reality dating show due to the fact he’d never managed to secure a real date himself – but fans might now be able to see why.
He left show dating experts Anna Williamson, 40 and Love Doctor Paul C Brunson, 47, gobsmacked when he referred to women as “birds” and “pigs”.
While viewers were also left aghast at his choice of words to describe women as he sat down for a chat with the experts about his dating history and ambitions.
Featuring on Wednesday night’s episode of the E4 show, Marty opened up about his dating experience, saying: "I'm at the stage now where I'm still in a slaggy rut.
"I'm gonna be honest with you, I'm not gonna come here and go on a first date with a bird and say 'd'ya wanna be me bird?'".
A puzzled Paul, who hails from the USA, asked what a “bird” is – with Marty only too happy to give his definition as: "A girl, yeah it's what we call girls in Newcastle."
The love experts then suggested such a description of a woman could be considered insulting – which was news to Marty.
Inadvertently doubling down, he claimed: "I've never had any complaints until you complained.”
Things got worse as he then said: "If we're in a club and me pal says 'ah look at that bird over there would you shag her?', I'd be like 'nah she's a pig’.”
Looking unimpressed, Anna then slammed the MTV star for his sexist comments.
She said: "It's a bit gutter... You can't be calling women pigs."
And it wasn’t just the romance experts who were appalled by Marty’s comments – as viewers took to Twitter to slam the Geordie Shore star.
One suggested his comments were grounds to be immediately eliminated from the show, tweeting: "Why would they continue with Marty who has just shown what a disgusting human he is? Why would you set him up with anyones daughter #CelebsGoDating"
Another hit out at the star, tweeting: "Banter can be funny and cute but some of the things Marty is coming out with is so gross.”
Another wrote: "Cancel that t**t Marty I’ve never heard of him and his attitude is just making me not want to watch this show anymore #CelebsGoDating.”
While many other branded his comments “disgusting” and “revolting”.
Meanwhile, Anna won praise for confronting Marty about his views, with one fan tweeting: "Anna calling Marty out for the way he speaks about woman. That's why I like her takes no bulls**t.”
Celebs Go Dating continues tonight on E4 at 9pm.
