Celebrity Masterchef fans accuse BBC show of 'fix' and claim the 'wrong' finalist won

Celebrity Masterchef fans have accused the BBC cooking show of "fixing" last night’s final.

Model and presenter Lisa Snowdon broke down in tears as she was crowned this year’s winner.

The 50-year-old beat All Saints singer Mel Blatt and McFly’s Danny Jones to take home the coveted trophy.

But fans claimed Mel – who was consistent throughout the series – should have won instead and insisted she had been “robbed”.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: “Well that’s a fix. Mel was sooo much better.”

Another agreed saying: “The fix is on #celebritymasterchef.”

A third claimed Lisa would win from the start, commenting: “Knew who Gregg and John would have win before anyone had cooked anything.”

Leaping to Mel’s defence, another chimed in: “Mel was robbed. Most consistent throughout #celebritymasterchef.”

Many fans had similar things to say on social media, including “Mel should have won” and “thought Mel was better”.

“I agree, Mel has been great from the start and in group tasks often saved the day. Mel was robbed”, another added.

“Lisa did not deserve that win. What a waste of my time,” one annoyed viewer commented.

However, others called Lisa a “worthy winner” and predicted she could even get her own cooking show or segment on This Morning off the back of it.

“Brilliant final and a deserved winner. Well done Lisa!” one fan wrote.

“Going into the final I was sure Mel would win! But Lisa deffo nabbed it based on tonight’s dishes. A worthy winner, but based on the entire series I would have given it to Mel,” said a second.

A third commented” “Lisa was the right one to win but I loved Danny and Mel’s cooking too and it was so close between them all.”

While a fourth predicted: “Presumably after her success on #Masterchef, Lisa Snowdon’s going to end up in the kitchen and Clodagh’s going to be moved to fashion (oh look, it’s denim) and flogging us the competition on #ThisMorning.”

The Mirror has contacted the BBC for comment.

Speaking after her win, Lisa said: “It’s such a life-changing experience. I feel like this isn’t real! I just can’t believe it. I couldn’t have wanted to win something that meant more to me than this. I am on cloud nine. I love it.”

Her winning three-course menu was a starter of poached rhubarb and pan fried mackerel with a fennel slaw.

This was followed by a main course of pan fried duck breast with mushrooms and a chocolate tart with crème fraiche and sour cherries for dessert.

Praising their winner, judge John Torode said: “Lisa, throughout this competition, has taken the everyday and elevated it into something special. This final she dared to do something that was going to be a gamble, and the gamble paid off. Her food is fantastic.”

Gregg Wallace also praised her for taking risks, saying: “Faint heart never lifts a MasterChef title and that is why Lisa is our Celebrity MasterChef champion.”
