Celebrity Gogglebox fans were almost reduced to readjusting their TV sets as they found themselves unable to recognise one of the star participants.
Friday night’s episode of the hit Channel 4 show saw TV host Emma Willis take to her sofa to review a week of televisual offerings – and she was joined by her famous chart topping husband.
However, many couldn’t believe that the man sitting next to 46-year-old Emma was her 39-year-old husband Matt Willis.
The Busted bassist was sporting short, buzzcut hair and a dark beard, glasses, a deep cut white t-shirt and a grey cardigan.
With the rocker looking extra relaxed on the sofa, some fans found they didn’t recognise him at first as they tuned in to the show.
Taking to Twitter as the episode aired, one fan wrote: "What on EARTH has happened to Matt Willis?! I hardly recognised him at first! #CelebrityGogglebox.”
Another commented: "I’m sorry Emma but that ain’t your fella #CelebrityGogglebox #gogglebox."
A further viewer remarked: "Took me a moment to realise it was Matt Willis #CelebrityGogglebox."
While another fan gasped: "I didn’t even recognise Matt Willis thought was someone different sitting with Emma. Thought she was getting cosy with someone else on tv #CelebrityGogglebox."
While yet another disbelieving fan wrote: "It's taken me nearly the whole episode to work out that Emma Willis is with her husband Matt."
Matt has certainly had a changing look over the years - having sported a Mohawk, slicked down hair, and even dyed blonde locks over the years.
He has also been seen with and without a beard over the years – while his latest look gives a cropped hairstyle and designer stubble.
Matt and Emma have been married since 2008 and together they have three children together; 13-year-old daughter Isabelle, 10-year-old son Ace and six-year-old daughter Trixie.
Last year, Matt revealed that his marriage was almost rocked by the Church of Scientology as officials from the religion tried to force him to split up from his wife.
He told The Sun at the time: “They were like, 'There's someone in your life who's actually draining you, who's a negative force, and it's normally the person closest to you.'
“And it's like, 'I think they're trying to split my marriage up now’.”
Fortunately Matt decided to bin off his flirtation with the derange religion and his marriage this month passed it’s 14-year mark.
Taking to social media on July 5, the duo shared a photo of themselves celebrating their anniversary by getting pedicures together.
