A mega cruise ship has docked in Liverpool as part of its tour of the British Isles.
The luxury Celebrity Apex made its way up the River Mersey this morning (Thursday, May 19) and will stay overnight at the port. It is a fairly new ship from the Celebrity Cruises, with its first launch being in May 2019.
While the Covid-19 pandemic impacted some of its first voyages, as it did with many other cruise ships, it has resumed its full summer schedule and has arrived at the city from Cork after setting off from Amsterdam on May 14. It has a capacity for 2,910 people across 14 decks.

The liner includes a brand new feature known as the 'Magic Carpet' which they say "breaks from traditional ship design". They said: "The Magic Carpet is a cantilevered, floating platform that reaches heights of 13 stories above sea level.
"Majestically situated on the starboard side of the ship, it makes Celebrity Apex’s sleek profile recognizable from miles away. Designed with comfortable seating, a full bar, and space for live music performances, it truly is a destination itself."
It also has a casino, a resort deck with outdoor pool, 'Eden' which is a venue space and 29 food and drink "experiences". There are currently 21 itineraries booked in for the Celebrity Apex including tours of Scandinavia, Iceland and the Mediterranean.
Prices start at around £1,500 per person and you can see the full schedule here.
