Popular Belgian fashion designer, Raf Jan Simons has shocked the fashion industry by announcing the closure of his namesake label. The designer who began as a furniture designer and later launched his own menswear label in 1995, has also served as the creative director at Jil Sander (2005–2012), Christian Dior (2012–2015), and Calvin Klein (2016–2018). Simons is presently also serving as the co-creative director of Prada.
On Monday afternoon, in a official letter, Simons broke the news about shutting his label. Interestingly, he recently debuted his Spring/Summer 2023 collection, which according to his social media post was the imprint’s last attempt at serving fashion lovers.
