It’s the last laugh for Cecily Strong.
The comedian is leaving “Saturday Night Live” after 11 seasons, NBC announced shortly before her final episode as a cast member Saturday.
Strong and her co-stars referenced her exit in multiple segments, including during her appearance on “Weekend Update” as the long-running character Cathy Anne.
“Actually, I’m a little emo tonight because truth is I’m here to say goodbye,” Strong said in character, telling anchor Michael Che she’s going to prison. “All the crimes I confessed to you here finally caught up to me.”
Strong also joined her co-stars and the episode’s host, “Elvis” actor Austin Butler, to sing the Elvis Presley song “Blue Christmas.”
The 11-year tenure by Strong, who joined “SNL” in 2012, is the longest ever for a female cast member. Kenan Thompson, who is currently in his 20th season, has the longest stint ever.
“Tonight we send off one of the best to ever do it,” reads a post on the “SNL” Instagram page. “We’ll miss you, Cecily!”
Strong’s departure comes seven months after longtime “SNL” stars Kate McKinnon, Pete Davidson, Aidy Bryant and Kyle Mooney left the show.
Her performances included an impersonation of Melania Trump and an appearance by the character Girl You Wish You Hadn’t Started a Conversation With.
“SNL” is in the middle of its 48th season.
