CDC Says Heart Inflammation Risk Higher After COVID-19 Infection Than mRNA Vaccines: CNBC

CDC MRNA Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Pfizer

According to a study published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, myocarditis, pericarditis, and multisystem inflammatory syndrome were higher after COVID-19 infection than those after Pfizer Inc (NYSE:PFE) or Moderna Inc (NASDAQ:MRNA) vaccination. 

However, according to the CDC, these cardiac conditions are rare after infection and vaccination alike. Myocarditis is an inflammation of the heart muscle, and pericarditis is an inflammation of the outer heart lining. Multisystem inflammation is associated with Covid infection that affects multiple organ systems.
